You want to live a healthy life and balanced life.

Unsure to what kind of changes you need to make, you turn to Google. Every diet you can think of, and even some you haven’t heard of, pop up. You choose one and decide to give it a try. After you start your new diet you begin thinking, “how do people do this?” Eventually you give in and have a cheat day from your diet, but it doesn’t make you feel better. Not only do you feel bloated and uncomfortable from eating too much food, but you’re dreading turning back to your diet Monday. Frustrated with this plan, you head back to Google and choose another one. But the same thing happens; over and over again. At the end of each diet you find yourself confused, hungry, afraid that eating a bite of dessert with cause you to gain weight; even though all you think about is food.

  • You’re worried that you if you don’t find a plan to stick to, then you won’t ever reach your health goals.

Meet your group coach!

Hello, my name is Alissa Brecht and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a passion for helping people meet their nutrition goals in a realistic, manageable, lifestyle approach. I use a non-diet mindset to show you the joy of feeling confident in your skin without any restrictions.

There are a few things in life that I can't live without: popcorn, pancakes, and chocolate. Not what you were expecting? I have always loved food and grew up in a family that cherished home-cooked, family meals. I spent my early years eating without restriction, enjoying healthy meals, and staying active in ways that I found fun. When I went to college, I kept up my healthy appetite, but not a healthy relationship with food. After arriving home from my first year, I stood on a scale in my doctor's office and learned that I gained over 20 pounds. I immediately downloaded a calorie tracking app on my phone, bought a gym membership, and tracked every single calorie and exercise possible. While I lost most of my "freshman 15", I began obsessing over what I ate and how many calories I burned in a day. I was trapped in wanting to stay thin and eventually breaking down to binge all the pizza possible on a Saturday night. One day, I just had enough and decided to focus on mindfulness and enjoying the foods around me. Today, I live a full, healthy life. I have discovered a passion for working out, and truly feel confident and strong after moving my body. I have continued my love for food--delicious fruits, vegetables, whole grains, chocolate, and the occasional few slices of pizza. I have learned that all foods and activity are part of a healthy everyday life.

Why should you ditch chronic dieting?

Because diets don’t work long-term

  • It’s estimated that 45 million Americans will diet each year, but long-term 95% of diets fail.

  • The average person will try 126 fad diets in their lifetime, but most people gain back any weight they lost dieting within 1-5 years.
